In the dairy section, I found stacks upon stacks of margarine which made my mother actually sigh in relief. Literally. A calm came over her. Then I remembered how she explained earlier that she wanted us to have a sense of normalcy, because we would be eating lots of canned goods and rice, and we both shuddered at the thought of rice with no butter flavor!

There are not a lot of films out there, at least what I have observed, that show Black people coming together as a collective to fight back against oppression. Queen and Slim shows this beautifully and I believe this movie should be the standard for all people who want to write or make films about the Black struggle.
