Adanze Akams
Adanze Akams is currently a sophomore at Rancho Cucamonga High School. At a young age she was taught to work diligently. Whether it came to academics or about the daily hardships of everyday life. She was instilled to be a ‘high-achiever’, so she could succeed in all her endeavors. Adanze is a first generation American from her parents who originated from Nigeria. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music such as R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, and Pop. She also enjoys reading YA novels. Her favorite authors are Suzanne Collins, Lemony Snicket, Jeff Kinney, Rachel Renee Russell, and Rick Riordan. In addition to that, Adanze enjoys watching Marvel films; specifically, the Avengers movies, Spider-Man movies (the Tom Holland ones obviously), and Black Panther. *Wakanda Forever! * Adanze is an avid Disney fan and loves the Disney Princesses. Her favorite channels to watch on TV are BET, ABC, Freeform, & Disney Channel. She is also fascinated by the ‘Fine Arts’ and views them as great outlets for self-expression.

 

Adanze has various role models, they mainly consist of: Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, The Obamas, Will Smith, Serena Williams, Beyoncé, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o.  Adanze has always been cultivated in African-American history and strives for Black Excellence.
